Congratulations to our client - Bernie Fehon of Tactical Solutions

Congratulations to our client - Bernie Fehon of Tactical Solutions
International media have picked up on the CEO Sleepout this month.  In Chinese and English.

PENRITH AMP financial planner Bernard Fehon has received the 2009 AMP Foundation Community Planner of the Year award. Mr Fehon has been rewarded for his outstanding efforts in helping create the Vinnies CEO Winter Sleepout in conjunction with the St Vincent de Paul Society. After receiving his award, Mr Fehon said he did not expect the recognition. “I didn’t think this was coming my way at all,” he said. “I was awarded at an AMP conference in Melbourne. It was very rewarding to be acknowledged among 1000 peers from around the country.”

The principal and director of Tactical Solutions set up the Vinnies CEO Winter Sleepout after looking for ways to make money for charity. Bernie thought of a silly idea to create a CEO sleepout and "We didn’t have to worry about what we feed them as all they will get is soup and a bread roll.”

Five years on, the CEO sleep out has received mass support with more than 200 CEOs attending last year’s event. “Last year we had 220 CEOs attend and it raised $620,000, which was a great achievement,” Mr Fehon said. “This year the event is going national and sites will be set up in every major city in the country. Therefore more people will become involved in the event and raise more money for the homeless.”

Mr Fehon thanked his helpful workers at Tactical Solutions for keeping the ball rolling while he was busy working on the sleepout. “I am chairing an organising committee which involved a few early morning meetings which takes a little time,” he said. “But the only way I can help in that way is having people working in my office doing the day-to-day work.”

This year’s Vinnies CEO Winter Sleepout was held on June 17 at Luna Park and to date has raised over $2.8 million.
