What are the codes of practices under the Work Health & Safety legislation?

The following model Codes of Practice have been finalised for implementation under the Intergovernmental Agreement for Regulatory and Operational Reform in Occupational Health and Safety.

Work health & safety consultation, co-operation and co-ordination	Managing noise and preventing hearing loss at work
Demolition	Managing risks of plant in the workplace
Managing electrical risks in the workplace	How to manage work health & safety risks
Excavation work	Safe design of structures
Managing the risks of falls at workplaces	Spray painting and powder coating
Preventing falls in housing construction	Welding processes
Managing the work environment and facilities

Codes of practice being revised

The following draft model Codes of Practice:

Preventing and Managing Fatigue in the Workplace, and
Preventing and responding to Workplace Bullying

are currently being revised based on public comment. They are expected to be finalised in the first half of 2013.

Draft Codes of Practice awaiting approval

These DRAFT Codes of Practice have been approved by Safe Work Australia Members and are ready for approval by the Select Council on Workplace Relations (Ministerial Council). The Codes will become model WHS Codes of Practice under the Inter- Governmental Agreement for Regulatory and Operational reform in OHS when they are approved by the Ministerial Council.
